It’s official, X Factor will return to FOX this September with a new judge, princess of pop, Britney Spears. Britney was offered $15 million dollars to judge X Factor, which according to MTV News, is $3 Million more than Jennifer Lopez is making on American Idol.

Before it was confirmed that Spears would be joining X Factor, Simon Cowell was asked about the addition, to which he responded, “I think it would be a coup, I think she would be a fascinating person to sit next to, so we’ll have to wait and see.” A source tells E! News Britney is very excited about her new challenge as well.

Others were considered for the judging gig after Nicole Sherzinger and Paula Abdul announced they would not be returning to X Factor, including Janet Jackson, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato. Britney definitely has the experience to guide potential X Factor winners. X Factor returns to FOX this September.
