Once again, it seems that James Franco has found another challenging role, to prove that he is one of the best actors of our generation. James is taking on the role of a young, Wizard of Oz a.k.a. Oscar Diggs. The first trailer is out and a behind the scenes preview with James.

From Spiderman’s nemesis, to Harvey Milk’s gay lover, to soap opera actor, to a scientist who gives intelligence to apes, James has always found roles that test the boundaries of his talent. This Disney produced movie is based on the L. Frank Baum’s character from “The Wizard of Oz”. In the new adventure “Oz: The Great and Powerful”, Oscar Diggs (James Franco), is a small-time circus magician and part-time con man. While riding in a hot air balloon, Diggs is hurled away from Kansas to the Land of Oz, where he believes he’s discovered fame and fortune, until he meets the witches. Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. With problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil, using his magical arts, through illusion and ingenuity, he transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.
