Backstage at the VMA’s with Big Sean

A big part of what makes Justin Bieber hit “As Long As You Love Me pop is the rap thrown down by Detroit’s Big Sean. Backstage at the VMA’s, Sean sat down with the Zoo and talked about his beginnings and what’s up next.

It wasn’t that long ago that Big Sean was hanging out at a Motown radio station when he got his big break, “He took me under his wing.” Showed me the ropes. Showed me what it takes to make an album.” What rapper took a chance on Big Sean?

Sean told the Zoo about meeting Lil Wayne and Jay-Z and trying to get them to hear his music. They’ve now changed their tune. “Now, Lil Wayne will come to me and be like, you gonna rap on my song?” he added.

Check out more backstage footage and our interviews with Kevin Hart, Ne-Yo, Gotye and Tom Arnold.
